PERFORMANCE RECORD

Gift never had the chance to be campaigned, although she had been training for Barrel Racing, and was clearing an APRA course in under 17 secs, and was also ready to be drafted.

Her career was cut short when one night, she went over the barbed wire fence in a paddock she had been in for months.

It tore her rug to shreds, a star picket sliced a gash in her neck millimetres from her jugular, the extensor tendon in her near side front knee was sliced in half, among many other horrific wounds.

It took six, very long months before she could go back into even the smallest paddock.

GENERAL INFORMATION

After Gift finally healed, she was bred to No Doubt in 2000, she had a little chestnut filly on the 01.01.2001. Which I named Expectations.

Expectations had to be put down in July 2005 due to a twisted bowel, the vets did everything they could, it was very sad and a big loss to the stud. She was broken in and going well, a smart mare with a bright future, and RHPPS will miss her very much.

I then bred her to "Peppy", she had a bay & white tobiano filly "Peppys Gift", 2 years after that she had a full sister to PG, named "Gifted Pep". In 2008 she had a solid bay colt that I lost within the first 24hrs of him being born. And in 2009 she had her 4th filly, "Stylish Gift". I like to incorporate Gift into the names of her foals and try to use a name from the Sires bloodlines as well.

I have taken Peppys Gift to several shows, and entered her in halter classes, she has always done quite well. She has since had 2 foals of her her own, and will hopefully campaigned in Campdrafting in 2011. In 2007 I sold Gifted Pep to my aunt, Lois Cameron. I have since bought her back and she will hopefully be campaigned in Campdrafting in 2010.

Gifts extensive injuries in 1999, are now starting to cause her more discomfort than ever before given her age and the weight of carrying a foal in the later stages of gestation. It is highly doubtful that I will re-breed her after "Stylish Gift" is weaned in April/May 2010. I would like to give her at least 6 months to recooperate and go from there.
